 Medical assistance

The length of assistance you receive depends on your situation. It lasts 3 to 6 months at one time, capped at a total of 24 months.

An SSO Officer will work out an action plan for you and your household to follow. The plan will help your household become independent eventually and no longer require assistance.

The plan may include the following activities:

 Finding and keeping a job

 Increasing work hours

 Upgrading your skills

You will need to sign a Letter of Undertaking to show that you are committed to cooperating with the SSO officer and following the action plan.
